How to install a
GN'R Desktop Theme
These
themes are made up of icons for your desktop, cursors for your mouse,
sounds, and a windows background. Firstly You MUST have Microsoft Plus!
installed for this to work properly. But you can install it without
it too.
To
install WITH Microsoft Plus!
1 - First you have to download the theme.
2 - Create a new directory in C:\ProgramFiles\Plus!\Themes
called gnr
3 - Extract all the files in the downloaded file .zip to the
new C:\ProgramFiles\Plus!\Themes\gnr directory
4 - Copy the file .theme file to the C:\ProgramFiles\Plus!\Themes
file
5 - Click on the Start button
6 - Click Settings, Control Panel
7 - In Control Panel, click Desktop themes
8 - Select the Theme from the drop down menu
9 - Click Apply
10 - Click OK
To Install WITHOUT Microsoft Plus!
1 - First you have to download the theme
2 - Extract the files to a new directory (call it theme)
3 - Copy the .bmp file to your C:\Windows directory
4 - Copy the .ani and .ico files to C:\Windows\cursors
5 - Copy the .wav files to C:\windows\media
6 - To make the sounds work, go to control panel and click on sounds
7 - Select an action and click browse. You'll find the sound files where
you put them in C:\windows\media
8- To change your icons, right click on the icon you wish to change
9- Click Properties, Shortcut, change icon
10- Set the path as C:\Windows\cursors
11 - Repeat steps 9 - 11 for all your icons
